A Quick Overview
Ok, there are a lot of changes to talk about here so, before we get into details, we think it would be helpful to give you a quick overview of all the changes that are happening, so you know what to expect.
Subscription Models
It’s our wish to make sports video analysis more accessible to everyone. We already announced that Nacsport Basic would become a subscription-only service from the 1st of June, 2022, something that we believe will help achieve this accessibility. Now, we’re expanding the subscription option to ALL Nacsport products, making initial start up cost much more affordable.
But we must stress, this is only an option. We have not got shot of our famous Lifetime License model, but we do hope that the lower initial price offered by the subscription model will allow many more people to get into performance analysis.
We’ll talk about the benefits of subscriptions and the benefits of Lifetime Licenses models later in the article, as well as give you all the new price points, so you can compare and decide which one is best for you.

Rebranding of Scout+ and Pro+
The second big change is that Scout+ and Pro+ will now be known as simply “Scout” and “Pro”.
In the case of Pro, this change is purely cosmetic. We just want to get rid of that “+”. This is a remnant from a time gone by when there were separate “Pro” and “Pro+” products. These two products haven’t existed for several years, and we want to simplify the naming process to help you make clear decisions.
However, in case you didn’t know, we do currently have two Scout products: Scout+ and Scout+ Unlimited. So, the big change here is that these two products will now be combined into one and be known simply as Scout.
Again, this is to simplify our message for new users and to improve communication in general.
We’ll tell you more about the new Scout product later in this article, but first, let’s start with those subscriptions…
The Benefits of Each Payment Model
Ok, from the 1st of June, 2022, you’ve got a choice to make when buying Nacsport Basic+, Scout, Pro or Elite. Annual subscription or Lifetime License? The choice is yours!
There are benefits to both options, which we’d like to highlight here to help you make your decision.
The Benefits of Annual Subscriptions
Annual subscriptions are now available for every Nacsport product, from Basic to Elite to add-ons such as Viewer. One simple payment will get you a year-long Nacsport license which can be renewed at the end of the year…or not.
So, what are the benefits of this model?
• Lower initial price. An annual subscription payment is much lower than buying the software outright. This means it is easier for EVERYONE to get high level sports video analysis software.
• More flexibility. Planning to use the software in the short-term only? Students, analysts with temporary positions, beginners planning to transition to higher level programs, and many more benefit from yearly subscriptions.
• Support and Update Service included. Having issues with the software? Get in contact with us and we’ll help you out straight away. Want the latest version of the software? It’s yours and will be updated automatically. With the Lifetime License model, we offer this as an optional service. With an annual subscription, it’s included in the price.
• Easier to understand. The payment model for subscriptions is simpler, cleaner and easier to manage.
• Industry standard. The subscription model has become the industry standard for sports video analysis software, with Nacsport’s Lifetime License model being something of an outlier. Nacsport’s annual subscriptions make it easier to compare prices and get the fairest deal for you.
The Benefits of Lifetime Licenses
A Lifetime License is just that, you pay for it once and you own it for life. Our Lifetime License is a bit of an outlier in the field of sports video analysis as other companies such as Hudl Sportscode and Dartfish currently only offer subscription-based software.
Available for Nacsport Basic+, Scout, Pro and Elite, the Lifetime model also comes with an OPTIONAL Support and Update Service (SUS), a low-cost annual payment which ensures you get all the latest features added to the software and access to our world-beating support service. But, again, we must stress, this service is OPTIONAL. SUS is also included in the first year of service, in the case of a single payment.
If you choose not to include this in your plan, your software will continue to function. We do, however, recommend SUS as we cannot guarantee compatibility with your operating system forever.
So, what are the benefits of this payment model?
• Lower long-term costs. Although the initial cost of the software is higher than with the subscription model, the lack of recurring payments, even with SUS included, will even out and eventually be cheaper over the course of several years.
• Simplicity. With this model, the software is yours, you own it…it’s that simple! In addition, as long as your SUS payments are up to date, we guarantee that the software will continue to function, no matter the changes to your operating system or any other external factor.
• A great investment. If you come to a point where you believe that you need more tools and features from your software, you won’t lose the money you have put into it. Upgrade to a higher level and simply pay the difference.
• Payment plans. We offer a range of payment plans which allow you to pay for the software outright over 3 years (with SUS included throughout the payment term). Again, this price is slightly higher than the subscription model but, at the end of the payment period, you own the software.
Changes to Scout+ and Scout+ Unlimited
As we said earlier, from the 1st of June, 2022, Scout+ and Scout+ Unlimited will become one product called Scout.
So, what does this mean?
Well, the difference between Scout+ and the Unlimited version is that, with the latter, users can work with an unlimited number of videos in the timeline, whilst with the former, they are limited to a maximum of five.
We’re now removing this limit, and the newly imagined Scout will allow all users to work with unlimited videos, which is great for everyone!

This Is Just the Beginning of the Evolution
So, that’s a quick summary of all the changes which went live on the 1st of June, 2022. Scout and Pro users have been sent an email containing a link for downloading the new update. If you haven't received it, please check your spam folder before getting in contact with us.
