The end of the year is traditionally a time to reflect on what’s gone before and look forward to the future. Having said that, 2020 might not be a year that many people want to dwell on too much.

The Coronavirus dominated proceedings, wreaking havoc all over the world with mass lockdowns and curfews being imposed everywhere. And it took its toll, both in terms of life and time, causing grief, uncertainty and confusion on an unprecedented scale.

But we soldiered on and now, surely, there’s light at the end of the tunnel. We can look forward to 2021 with a sense of hope that a return to normality is imminent and the day we can remove our masks and spend quality time with the ones we love will be a glorious day.

In terms of Nacsport, we’ll publish a full review of our year soon but we, like everyone else, have been affected by this virus. Nevertheless, we’ve striven to bring you quality content throughout the year through social media, YouTube and, of course, our blog.

Today, we reveal our most read blog posts of the year and give you a chance to, once again, reread some of the fantastic articles we’ve published. It also gives us the opportunity to thank you for engaging so positively with everything we’ve published this year. So...thank you! Counting down from 10 to 1, here’s the list:

10. The 4 Wide Avenues of Attack at Bielsa’s Leeds

Wide Avenues of Attack

There’s been a lot of interest in El Loco this year, as you’ll see later in this list. At the start of November, we published this guest article by professional analyst Matías Navarro, an expert on the tactics of Marcelo Bielsa. In the article, he breaks down the key points of the Leeds United attack. Extremely insightful.

This is an exclusive look under the bonnet of analysis at professional football clubs.

7. The 5 Best Video Cameras for Sports Analysis in 2020

Back in June we published this article designed to help you choose the best camera for conducting your sports analysis. This article has been extremely helpful for many analysts trying to get the absolute maximum out of their analysis work.

5. The Best Laptop Computers for Sports Analysis 2020

Top Computers for Sports Analysis

This is the second Best of...Hardware post on this list. We know that choosing the correct hardware for running our software can be an overwhelming task, especially with so much choice on the market. In this post, we whittled it down to 5 computers which we believed to be perfect for running Nacsport. We later expanded this selection to include desktop computers and tablets in the above mentioned ebook.

Analysis at Liverpool

Coming in at number 2 in our list is this guest article by Head of Opposition Analysis at Liverpool FC, Greg Mathieson. In an interview with our colleagues at AnalysisPro (Part 2 of the article can be read on their website here), Greg gave us access to his department’s working processes and showed us how his work aids Klopp and the team. Published at the start of November, we feel this could have been a contender for the top spot if given more time! Great insights!

1. Marcelo Bielsa and the Importance of Video Analysis

Marcelo Bielsa

And so we reach the top spot and we finish in the same way we started. This year, people truly went loco for El Loco. We get anecdotes about his coaching career and insights into his working practices. This post truly deserves to take the number one position this year. Thank you Matías for your efforts and thank you Mr. Bielsa for just being you!
